Urban Landscaping Excellence Award

The Square is the principal civic space in St Annes and since 1999 has been the focus of regeneration activity. In 2000 work began on a four phase refurbishment including new parking areas, pavilions for seating and retail uses, landscaping, public art, open seating spaces and a performing arts arena.

Fylde Borough Council and Marland Builders & Contractors successful collaboration on this scheme has been recognised with the presentation of the prestigious Paviors Award from the Worshipful Company of Paviors in July 2008.

This award was established in 2000 as an award for excellence in the design and construction of paving. It is awarded annually in the context of the Street Design Competition run by the Local Government News. Certificates are awarded to the client, designer and constructor of the paving in the winning project, together with a commemorative plaque to be displayed on site.
